Claim:
On July 9, 2025, a video clip circulated on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok showing floodwaters rushing into a building.

Fact Check:
1、Source analysis:
Through reverse image search of key frames, we confirmed the original footage was recorded on January 27, 2024, at the Outrigger Bar in Roi-Namur, Kwajalein Atoll, the Marshall Islands. The video description clearly indicates this shows flooding at the bar during a storm surge.

2、Geolocation verification:
A Google Maps search for the bar name revealed user reviews from a year ago mentioning flooding at the location, accompanied by photos. A comparison of pre-flood and post-flood images of the bar’s interior shows identical decor and layout to the viral video clip.

Conclusion:
Out of context.
The flooding incident depicted actually occurred in the Marshall Islands in early 2024 and is unrelated to the July 2025 Texas flood incident in the United States. The posts misrepresent the footage to spread false information.
